About Crop Scan Tech

Owner / Operator Matt Johnson started Crop Scan Technologies after following the development of Green Atlas’s technology over several years.   At the end of 2020, Crop Scan Technologies became a business partner with Green Atlas to service the QLD region. Since then, Crop Scan has developed clients at several Macadamia farms in the district.

Matt grew up in Roma on a cattle and wheat farm. His background includes working as an engineer for the last two decades. During the last 13 years Matt had been working at Weipa before moving to Bundaberg to be closer to relatives. Matt also have a graduate diploma in information technology and as a result is able to look at the challenges involved with both an engineering and an IT perspective. 

Crop Scan Technologies is working closely also with the Hinkler Ag-Tech Initiative which is led by the Central Queensland University’s Institute for Future Farming Systems and is funded through the Hinkler Regional Deal. The Hinkler Regional Deal is a collaboration between the Australian Government, Bundaberg Regional Council and Fraser Coast Regional Council.
